Our new Guest house venture is providing additional nocturnal interest for Pam & me.

Last weekend the phone rang early, ‘we are locked out’ said a plaintive voice, oh no! I,m late to cook breakfast thinks I. Jump out of bed, look out the window, it is dark. Put on slippers & gown, it is 1.00am, go across the yard to find two ladies huddled outside the door to room 3, hello  did you enjoy the Elvis concert, yes but we are locked out came the reply. But you are in room 7 the African room, not room 3 Beach Style, see you at breakfast.

My nocturnal adventures were even later the following night, a call at 2.30am found me helping a lady who’s husband had not got back with the key, he had decided to walk back from the party but went the wrong way and was missing for some time, luckily a passing taxi found him.

Pam & I had a great day out at the show on Tuesday, the animals were superbly turned out as usual, the Shires and Clydesdales being great favorites. The grand parade was excellent with all the winners from each catagory on show, well nearly all, pigs do not line up as well as cattle.

The food halls & WI tent were really good this year and Pam even managed to buy a few plants for around the car park to the guest house. I thought my days acting as a donkey were over but none of it, I was loaded up with nine plant pots full of soil & flowers and led back to the car.

All room rates have been revised, downwards, and are the same for all seasons.
This simplifies the pricing structure.
Web site and photos all complete and now all we need is for you to book in.
The swallows arrived back from Africa 29th April a week later than last year.
They provide a great ariel display at dusk catching food on the wing. Next doors farm has house martins and we also occassionally have swallows, what a treat.

The guest house is very nearly complete.

We have two rooms open from tonight and the other five will be ready by the weekend, and they do look spectacular.

Last Sundays photo shoot was postponed for reasons of perfection, my wife, and will now take place next Saturday, so photos should be on the web site early next week. All we need now is some customers.
